Tanya has worked as a project manager in various contexts ranging from government, NGO, to corporate organisations, which has helped her develop important skills and competencies to thrive in any environment. Tanya shares a keen interest for socio-economic development, informal settlement upgrading and community participation. Over the past six years she has had the opportunity to work with researchers, activists, policymakers and community members to explore these topics through a variety of studies, including the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights in Mozambique and research on the causes, effects and opportunities of informal settlements in South Africa. Tanya has also authored a book which sought to determine the efficacy of current solid waste management in enhancing living conditions in informal settlements in eThekwini Municipality.
In her spare time she speaks into the mike and makes brands come to life!
