Winner of the prestigious MTN Radio Award for Best Breakfast Show Presenter in SA in 2013 and 2015. A self-confessed sports-nut, analyst and hoarder-of-fact Daron was also owner and editor of Sport Elizabeth newspaper from 2008 until closure in 2018.
Daron was the anchor presenter of the Algoa FM’s highly successful 06h00 to 09h00 weekday breakfast show – The Daron Mann Breakfast Show – a position he held for the sixteen years.
Known throughout the Eastern Cape (and sometimes beyond!) for his passion for trivia (past winner of TV’s The Weakest Link game show), and, in particular, sport, Daron has led the Algoa FM Sports Trivia team since its inception and to national victory in the Supersport Media Quiz .
Long-involved in sport commentary and PA work in the Eastern Cape Daron has had stints as official PA Announcer at EP Rugby (1993 to 1996), Border Rugby (1997 to 2002), Border Cricket (1997 to 2018) and the Warriors/EP Cricket (since 2004 to present). He was also PA announcer at the Boet Erasmus
Stadium in PE during the 1995 Rugby World Cup and PA announcer at Buffalo Park in East London during the 2003 Cricket World Cup. Daron also did duty as on-field (and on-camera) presenter during the IPL cricket tournament when it was hosted in South Africa in 2009
He is an MC of great ability and experience. Over the past 25 years he has taken charge of more than 1 500 events for clients ranging from local sports organisations to international blue chip companies to government departments.
